Baudrillard Dies

He was 77. That particular generation of thinkers gets thinner every month, it seems. French announcement can be found here , with a write-up or two beneath the picture of JB, though it will probably be a day or two before proper obits start appearing.

Of course, that won't stop the sea of idiotic and malicious sentiment reminding us just how stupid Baudrillard was; that sentiment ends up being rather quick in its delivery, at least judging from the recent reaction to Derrida's death.

to be honest i'm not sure whether it was baudrillard who passed away, or his simulacrum

There is a certain irony that this event will probably temporarily boost interest in his work amongst grad students.

Dear Kenneth,

My apologies for contacting you this way, but I could not find an email address for you.

I have been reading your blog for a little while now and it has really grown on me. I think my members and readers will find it as stimulating as I do, and so I wish to propose a link exchange between our sites. I think an exchange will benefit both of us.

My site is one of the largest interfaith religious forums on the net with over 10,000 registered members and a half million posts, so it is possible that we could drive significant traffic your way. We are hugely diverse even for an interfaith forum, with every major religion and most minor ones represented by our members. But what we most pride ourselves on is the warm and welcoming environment we've created in which people gather to discuss religions and all related matters. Here's the link to our home page: http://www.religiousforums.com/

Our home page has a rank of 6, and our index page has a rank of 5.

Please be so kind as to take a look at our site at your convenience and let me know what you think of a link exchange.

Best Wishes,

Phil Georg

Administrator Sunstone at Religious Forum

P/S: If a link exchange appeals to you, please add us to your blog as "World Religions", rather than as "Religious Forums". We are trying to move up in the Google rankings for the search term "World Religions", and your listing us as such would help immensely. Thank you!

Nikhi:

The headline in what was a very intelligent article about Baudrillard read "Baudrillard is not dead." I found it (the headline) rather amusing.
